Standard front dash speaker size is 4″x6″ for a Jeep Wrangler of this style.

You can buy these adapters online for just a few dollars to adapt a 5 1/4″ speaker into the dash. OR you can make them yourself for cheaper if you already have the material…. which I did… scraps from a previous subwoofer install.

Not that it helps much. Even with the top up, you don’t get enough sound out of the dash speakers…

Probably oughta put some bass blocking capacitors on while you’re at it.

Im not sure if these are worth it either, they are in such a bad position. One of the worst I have ever seen for a car.

5.25 can usually take more punishment than 4×6 though. When I replaced infinity kappa plates with diamond 5.25 speakers in front, they sounded cleaner at high volumes.

Definitely cleaner. I can actually hear them in the mix now. There STILL has to be a way to make this location work better though. I put polyester batting behind them also.
