Well, they may be Pyle brand, but it’s still and upgrade!
While the original speakers in the soundbar are OK, I opted for a bit of an upgrade. I’ve used Pyles several times and find them to be pretty decent cheap speakers.
I also moved the soundbar (Rugged Ridge brand from Alpine Jeep) from the rear of the roll bar to in front of the roll bar for a little better sound position. It’s directly over your head now which is not ideal, but at least you can hear the sound.
I enlarged the holes so the Pyle 6 1/2″ would fit a little better and added Bass blocker caps to each. Update – removed the Bass blockers. Not necessarily needed. My wife likes the sound better without them.
I rewired the built-in courtesy lights. The original built-in light was wired so you could turn them off/on by swiveling the light right or left… Now it’s either on or off according to the stock courtesy lights.
I also moved the wiring connection to the opposite side. Since the soundbar was turned around, the connection was on the opposite side. That made the wiring run longer. I would either have had to lengthen the wires, or keep the connection on the same side. Easy decision. Drill a new hole and move the wiring. Plug the original hole.
